Back from China and updates

It's been over three weeks since I last posted! But, I have a very good reason why. I was over in China teaching as part of the partner programme we run with a Unviersity based out there.

This was no holiday though! Rather it's the best part of two weeks of intense teaching. Basically condensing 12 weeks of lectures down into two (consisting of two extended lectures a day). It's an interesting experience and really tests ones lecturing ability having to deliver in an unfamiliar place (even though I have taught at that campus twice before but each time in a very different type of room). This time was also a brand new module for me, however, it was one that actually makes good use of my wider knowledge of creative technology and how it aligns well with the videogames industry.

I'll likely post a bit more about the experience in the coming weeks. For now I just wanted to post something short to confirm that I haven't gone anywhere. Although, the new academic year is just about to start in the UK, so things will continue to be just as busy. The difference is, I'm already deep into the lecturing process and recovering from a cold before freshers flu has even got a chance to spread.

I've previously posted about an ideal schedule for this blog. Realistically it's not something I'll be following for the next month until things calm down a bit. However, I do have plans to better utilise my non-teaching days. Especially over at my other blog, inspired by listening to an interview with Brendon Bigley on the Post Games podcast. In short, I really want to do more writing about videogames, and that was actually the main aim of that blog, yet it ended up drifting more towards tech and my move away from big tech.

I have talked about tech here as well, and actually, I think here is the better place for it. Thus freeing up Relative Nostalgia to talk about videogames. It might not be exclusively videogames, but it will be the main drive. It will likely be the end of this month/start of next month though that I restart things there though.

That's it from me for now. I'm hoping to post again here later in the week.
