Bank Holiday Weekend
Finally, the Bank Holiday Weekend! I know that the Easter break wasn't that long ago, but I very much did not have a break then. Haven't had a proper break for a long time. Either had things that scheduled to do, or something has come up that needed my immediate attention. Over the past 12 months this has ranged from minor to major and everywhere in between.
For the past month all sorts of issues have arisen, all whilst working on an upcoming chapter for a book (which I'm very excited about). I have been able to play some videogames, although mostly the new Tomodachi Life as that game lends itself to playing a bit every evening. Although I have purchased a few other videogames during this time waiting to be played.
I did also this week manage to post to my research blog as after I finished the draft chapter and sent that off I had a very productive lecture that inspired me to look into another term to describe videogame remakes. Also, since I last posted there Pika have been busy adding useful features. It's starting to be a bit more like Wordpress, but in a good way. Features that make accessing posts easier, but without the bloat of Wordpress. Oh, and now markdown footnotes copy in there without any problem which is a big win for me.
Meanwhile here with Pagecord there have also been new features, as well as more CSS templates to build upon. So you might notice this blog looks a little different. I was a bit unhappy with how I made this blog look, I just couldn't quite get the CSS right, plus I was kind of missing how my old Bear blog looked. Fortunately, one of the templates (Archibald) was more in line with what I was thinking for an updated look. After a couple of tweaks - mostly the colour scheme and font - it's looking good for now. I might tweak a couple of things, but for this very moment I'm happy with it.
Still waiting for the Obsidian plugin as I've continued to use Obsidian a lot over the past month or so. Even though I keep my Obsidian fairly default with only a couple of community plugins, it's working very well for me. The main thing is it's quick and doesn't slow down when there is a lot of text. Which was one of the main reasons why I dropped Notion a couple of years ago.
Anyway, that's it for now. Hopefully I can blog here a bit more frequently before the next big project.
