Bring on the Winter break
It's so close to the winter break for me! This is the last week before I'm off for a solid three weeks! This will be the longest I've actually had time booked off since Easter! It's been a challenging calendar year and I've been running very efficiently on not a lot.
At the start of the year me and my partner joined a local gym and it's been one of the best things we've done. It's helped me become generally healthier which crucially has helped my immune system. I've still been ill at the start of the academic year, but I hit the semester running with an intensive stint of teaching overseas which really takes it out of you (a colleague who went out after me had the same).
I've powered through though and very soon I can take a much needed break. I haven't got anything set planned, aside from the usual Xmas things, my main thing is to just play videogames.
I took advantage of the Black Friday sales (which were legitimately good this year) and upgraded to a PS5 Pro (possibly more on this in another post) and so far I've been very happy with it. I had a good idea what to expect from it, that being an upgrade to certain games but nothing night and day difference. So, because I had my expectations in check I'm enjoying it for what it is. Although, I was surprised with how much smaller it is than the original PS5 model, plus, it's also a bit quieter.
In addition to more gaming, I'm hoping to do a bit more writing here as well, mostly thoughts on some of those games I've been playing.
Meanwhile, I have been a bit busier on my other blog as I've been thinking about and testing ideas for some upcoming texts I'll be working on next year.
