My blog following RSS feed is filling up again
Before Christmas I noticed that the folder in my RSS reader for other people's blogs was getting a bit stale. There were one or two people who were still posting pretty regularly (although ironically the ones I was also least interested in) but ones I liked reading the most had practically disappeared (one unfortunately has).
Recently, however, this has started to change. I'm now having to actively go through it. Mark those I'm not interested in reading, and identify those I definitely do. Some take little time to read and are just snippets of their lives. Others are long essays on a topic. Most are somewhere in-between and it's these I've been enjoying the most. One person about their travel in East Asia. Usually I find travel logs annoying, but this person is posting unique things whilst also at times tying it back to other things. So it feels more like their overall blog, that just happens to also be on travel at the moment.
This blog is far more general than my other one (which I am intending to post to in the next day or so) and I do wonder what specifically people find interesting about it? For me it's a good exercise to keep me writing and also help me think through things.
Recently work has been full on. The lie we told ourselves that the new term would be better disintegrating before we had even started teaching. When I did have free time I was too exhausted to write. Thankfully we now have a "study break" which I am also using for this purpose (sorry/not sorry to those emailing me as I've booked it off for this reason).
I do find writing relaxing, and even research to an extent. The main thing is I enjoy researching when I actually have time to do it. So hopefully I will be a bit more recharged when I physically return.
