Why this blog title?
I'm terrible at coming up with names and titles for the things I write. When I was writing for Thumbsticks my editors would often take the dull title that I still agonised over and turn it into something actually enticing - but without being annoyingly "clickbaity".
Whilst I've got slightly better over the years, it's still one of the main areas I still need to continue working on.
For my other blog, "Relative Nostalgia" is the name of one of the concepts I came up somewhat early on whilst writing my PhD thesis. I also think it's quite a snappy name and kind of sums up what it is I write about. Plus, if you type it into a search engine it increasingly leads back to me in one way or another.
As for this blog, initially I wasn't sure what I wanted the focus or purpose to be. But when I decided I wasn't going to have it as an anonymous blog I thought I would lean into linking it to me.
As it is more "bloggy" (aka personal) for my microblog compared to my other blog, it seemed like a fun title to relate with what it is I'm writing about, that being mostly either what I've been up to or what I've been thinking about. Then there is the fact that it kind of links nicely with my domain for the blog, that being that as it is a personal domain that uses my actual name, and as it is the subdomain at that, the two complete one another.
